LOS ANGELES, February 27, 2007: - Docufide, education's trusted intermediary for the
delivery of electronic transcripts and admissions documents, announced today its ability to deliver XML
transcripts compliant with the Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC) standard. Almost 300 colleges
and universities in 43 states already have agreements with Docufide under which they receive transcripts
electronically. All of these institutions currently receive transcripts from Docufide as a secure,
standardized PDF, and when they are ready, will now be capable of also receiving transcripts as PESC/XML -
both at no cost.
Docufide has delivered PESC/XML student transcript records to several earlier adopters of
these PESC standards, including Indiana University - Bloomington, University of Nevada - Reno, Baylor
University, and University of Arizona to name a few.
John O'Connell, Docufide's SVP of Business Development, stated, "there's been a misconception
in the industry that because our installation only takes 20 minutes per school, works with any SIS, and
requires no system changes, we must not be able to deliver XML. On the contrary, Docufide has always stored
every transcript received internally as XML. Now that the nationally recognized PESC standard is available and
becoming widely accepted we have included that standard in our delivery options. Any college or university can
register at www.docufide.com> today and begin receiving transcripts for free from high schools and other
colleges that are using our services nationwide. To-date, Docufide has delivered transcripts to over 2,000
unique destinations and we look forward to them all gaining the additional benefits the PESC/XML format can
provide them."
Chris Foley, Senior Associate Director, Indiana University said "I'm very excited about the
potential in Docufide's XML transcripts. This will turn the application process into a completely online
experience and, in the end, benefit both schools and students."
"We are very excited about this [Docufide XML delivery] and its possibilities as we try to
eliminate paper. Within 24 hours of being notified that we could receive transcripts in PESC XML, we were
setup and receiving transcripts in that format from Docufide for free. We expect this to save us a lot of
time", stated Cheryln Strong, Office of Admissions, University of Arizona.
"Docufide has opened a whole new world for transcripts for us. Thank you", stated Lana Waden,
Admission Services, Baylor University.
In addition to Docufide's ability to deliver PESC XML from any high school or college, the
Company is also an active member of the Schools Interoperability Framework Association's (SIFA) 2.0 Student
Record Exchange Taskforce and will support all schools compliant with the SIF 2.0 standard through their SIF
2.0 agent; delivering to postsecondary institutions in the format they desire, including paper, EDI, PESC/XML
and PDF. Lee Purvis, Docufide's CTO, stated, "We are working with the SIF 2.0 specification now and the beta
tools from EduStructures, and will be ready to certify our SIF 2.0 support as soon as SIFA and the Open Group
are ready".
