Q. I am a college student - what is the difference between Docufide and Parchment?
A. College transcripts are requested at docufide.com and high school transcripts are requested at parchment.com. You use the same sign in credentials at both sites.
Q. How does the service work?
A. College students create an account online, either by accessing docufide.com directly or via their college portal. High school students create an account online at parchment.com. After your account is confirmed, you are able to complete transcript requests to the destinations of your choosing and remit payment, if required. Once the request is complete, it’s queued for review and approval by the designated campus administrator. The campus administrator approves the transcript and releases it to us electronically and we then configure it for either electronic or print delivery.
Q. Are Transcripts sent by Parchment official?
A: Yes. Your Institution has signed a legal agreement with Parchment for the Docufide Sender platform allowing us to act as the official “agent” sending transcripts on their behalf. All transcripts are assigned a unique ID number to verify its authenticity and have built in security features to protect against tampering or manipulation.
Q. Does the “Transcript Authorization Form” act as a student signature and is this required?
A: The Transcript Authorization Form (TAF) is presented to you when you create your account. You complete this form once for each academic institution associated with your account. The TAF is required under FERPA and is in place solely for your protection. You may withdraw authorization at any time by signing into your Docufide account and going to the Profile page. If you withdraw the form, you will be required to sign a new form before sending your transcript to a destination outside Parchment's verified database of academic destinations and scholarship funds.
Q. I tried to create an account directly at docufide.com but was blocked – why?
A: This could occur for one of two reasons. First, some institutions require that you access docufide.com only from within your college portal account so you would need to sign in to your college portal account and locate the link to Docufide. Second, the email address you are trying to register with may already be associated with an account you created when you were in high school or while attending another college. All you need to do is sign in to your existing account and associate your current school. If neither of these suggestions resolve your registration, please go to our Contact Us page and complete a support request.
Q. How do I retrieve my password?
A: Go to the sign in page and click the “Forgot your password” link. You will have two options to change your password: receive an email with a secure link to reset their password or reset your password immediately, answering two security questions. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long and include at least 1 alpha and 1 numeric character.
Q. How is student information protected?
A. Every institution using Docufide Sender and Docufide Receiver is authenticated prior to activating the campus account and administrators and users are verified. Academic credentials are sent via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology – the same security used for online banking.
Q. Do you share my personal information?
A. We take your privacy very seriously. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how your information is protected.
Q. What information do I need to place a transcript request?
A: To place a transcript request you will first need to have an active account. Once your account is established you will just need the names of the academic destinations you want your transcript sent to and/or the names and delivery addresses for non-academic destinations and a method of payment. If you are sending your transcript to a third-party destination such as an employer or to yourself, you will have the option to have your transcript sent electronically downloaded from an email address provided by you or via paper to the delivery address you provide.
Q. How do you deliver academic credentials?
A. Academic credentials are either delivered electronically or via paper. Colleges and Scholarship funds default to electronic receivers when they register as a Docufide Receiver. If the transcript needs to be sent via mail, we complete that process for the school and can send via regular US Mail, international or overnight delivery options.
Q. Where can you deliver transcripts?
A. Transcripts can be delivered to any destination you identify. Our vetted network of academic destinations and selected scholarship funds have pre-populated delivery addresses and those who have elected to become Docufide Receivers, default to an electronic receiver as a part of the registration process. You are able to request official transcripts be sent outside of this network to yourself, employers or other third parties. Our academic database is updated regularly but you are encouraged to check the address we have for the receiving institution against the address they have. If there is a difference, first call the institution to confirm the address.
Q. Can students send a transcript to a destination not listed in your database?
A. The vast majority of institutions configure their ordering portal to allow students to send to non-academic destinations. Once you’ve signed in, go to the “Other Destinations” tab and enter the destination information there.
Q. What if the mailing address I have for a destination and the one listed in your database don’t match?
A: While we regularly refresh our database of academic destinations, we do strongly encourage you to confirm the address you have matches what is in our database. If the address you have is different you can do two things. The first option would be to go to our Support Page, select the “Question on transcript destinations” subject line, and then please input the address you would like us to add. Because we verify all changes to academic destinations, it may take us 2-3 business days to complete this request. Your second option would be to contact the institution and confirm the address to which they wish to receive transcripts. If the address you have is the preference and you need your transcript sent immediately, you can either select "edit the delivery information" link on the Review Destinations page or place a request using the “Other Destinations” feature.
Q. How much does it cost to request a transcript?
A: There is no cost to create a Docufide account. The fee for each transcript varies based on institution, state and on the delivery method you select. Additionally, your institution may elect to add a school charge on top of the transcript request fee. These fees are clearly displayed to you before you are prompted to remit payment.
Q. Who has access to my transcript?
A: During the fulfillment process your transcript will likely be viewed by the campus administrator processing transcripts, the receiving institution, and the Parchment staff responsible for transcript fulfillment. Your transcript data is transmitted in a secure environment, both from the sending campus and to the receiving institution, if registered to receive transcripts electronically. If you are sending a transcript to a third-party destination, the Transcript Authorization Form (TAF) you signed during registration authorizes Parchment to deliver to a destination we have not validated. If you withdrew that authorization, you will be required to sign a new TAF when you submit your request. Paper transcripts are delivered in an envelope that states “IMPORTANT: Transcript Enclosed” on the outside.
Q. What do I need to do after placing my request?
A: As soon as you place your order you will start to receive email updates from Docufide. We will notify you when your transcript request has been approved, if it has been placed on hold, when it’s processed and when it’s queued for delivery. You are also able to log in to your account 24x7 to check the status of your order.
Q. What do I do if my transcript request was placed on hold?
A: We will notify you if your transcript request was placed on hold by your campus. There are a variety of reasons your campus may elect to put your request on hold. You are encouraged to contact the Registrar’s office if you receive this notification to clear the hold as soon as possible. Once the hold is cleared, your institution will release the transcript to us and we will queue it for delivery.
Q. When are my transcripts sent?
A: Transcripts are queued for delivery as soon as they are released to us. If the destination is electronic, it will be processed immediately. Transcripts for paper delivery we typically process within 1 business day.
Q. Will I know if my transcript has been delivered?
A: We send you email notifications at every stage of the process including when we have delivered it electronically and when we have stamped and mailed your paper transcript.
Q. The transcript I ordered never arrived, what do I do now?
A: Depending on the time of year it could take colleges 4-6 weeks to process your transcripts and acknowledge receipt to you directly. If you choose to contact the receiving destination to follow up, make sure to ask how long it takes them to process so you can make sure that amount of time has passed since you received the last confirmation from us. If it has and you would like our assistance, please go to our Support Page.
Q. Is there a limit to how many transcripts I can order at once?
A: There is no limit to the number of transcripts you can request in a single session nor is there a limit to the number of times you can access your Docufide account.
Q. I do not have my Student ID and/or I don't know the last four digits of my SSN. What do I do?
A: In some cases your institution will pass us your student ID when you set up your account and/or your institution may require the last four digits of your SSN. This information is necessary because it aides both your institution and Parchment in matching your transcript request to the transcript housed in the Student Information System. If these fields show as required when you are establishing your account, please contact the Registrar at your campus for more information.
Q. Who do I contact if there is a problem?
A: It really depends on the question. If you want to follow up on a transcript request that was put on hold or not yet approved, please contact your institution. If you would like to follow up on a transcript sent via US Mail, please contact the receiver identified to ensure your transcript has arrived. For any questions about the Docufide ordering process, user interface or for general order assistance, please go to our Contact Us page and complete a support request.

Docufide Receiver Schools
- How did my organization get listed in your database?
- The address listed for our organization is not accurate – how do we change it?
- Our institution has multiple departments that receive transcripts – how do we set up our account so each is searchable?
- We used to receive school profiles but now we don’t – are these still available?
- What delivery formats are available?
- How can I verify the transcript I received is official?
Q: How did my organization get listed in your database?
A: We routinely refresh our list of accredited colleges and universities, plus a growing number of scholarship funds, so that we can deliver transcripts to the academic destinations students need. If you are not yet registered to receive electronically, transcripts will be delivered to you via mail or FedEx at the address we have on file.
Q: The address listed for our organization is not accurate – how do we change it?
A: While we regularly refresh our database, your input can help us improve our service to students and schools. Once you have registered you are able to update your institution information at any time, including the address.
Q: Our institution has multiple departments that receive transcripts – how do we set up our account so each is searchable?
A: If your institution needs to establish multiple transcript delivery points for undergraduate, graduate or professional department admission considerations, you can register each department independently with Docufide Receiver. When registering departments other than undergraduate admissions you should clearly identify the department. For example if your institution is already registered as Parchment University and you need to add graduate admissions you would start a new registration as "Parchment University, Graduate Admissions". You will be prompted to enter a unique CEEB code for each department you are adding. We provide detailed instructions during the registration process on how to accommodate this when adding multiple destinations for the same Institution.
Q: We used to receive school profiles but now we don’t – are these still available?
A: Yes they are. You can now view school profiles by signing in and going to the Directory and search for the school. We’ve made it a little easier for you to know if a profile has been uploaded by the sending school by indicating it with a note in the footer of each transcript.
Q: What delivery formats are available?
A: We deliver official transcripts in paper and electronic formats. Paper transcripts are printed on official, secure and signed transcript paper and are mailed in an envelope that states “IMPORTANT: Transcript Enclosed”. Electronic transcripts are available as secure PDFs from your user account and Docufide Receiver, Full offers additional delivery formats and methods such as xml/EDI and SFTP, web services, or Texas Server.
Q: How can I verify the transcript I received is official?
A: Each Docufide Sender school has signed an agreement with Parchment, appointing us as their authorized agent for processing and delivering official transcripts. Each transcript has a unique ID number. Go to docufide.com, selecting the Tracking option from the homepage and entering the ID you can to view the authenticity of the document received.
